The Firefly Institute offers a variety of continuing education and training programs for professionals. Training programs, workshops and courses include, but are not limited to: play therapy and expressive arts education, trauma informed services across the lifespan, art therapy, clinical supervision, animal assisted human health and the integration of theory into practice for specialized populations.
All participants can request to attend via webinar for training. Please note, APT only allows 50 live webinar hours to be counted towards certification. These are considered 'non-contact hours'. Indicated in your registration if you need accommodations to attend via webinar through the message feature upon registration.
The Firefly Institute is an approved provider for the Association for Play Therapy (APT). All training programs for expressive therapy and play therapy practice meet the criteria and guidelines for continuing education credits. APT has issued new practice standards for continuing education which the Firefly Institute supports. 50 non-contact hours (webinar registration) can be applied towards a registered play therapy certificate (RPT) and 100 hours of training needs to be in-person contact. Participants will receive a certificate of education in completion of classes that can be applied towards their registered play therapy credentialing or certification process with this policy in place.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received in writing to the Continuing Education Director seven days prior to the event to receive a refund, and are subject to a $25 processing fee.
Distance learners may attend via webinar upon request. Most, but not all program supports webinar learning. We use Zoom technology and will provide all registrants with information about webinar procedures following enrollment within any of our courses.
We offer clinical supervision towards license and credentialing as a licensed professional counselor (LPC), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and registered play therapist (RPT) or registered play therapy supervisor (RPT-S).
