The Firefly Institute offers a counseling program to support individuals and families across the lifespan. We offer a variety of services including treatment options that are highly specialized such as play therapy, animal assisted therapy, therapeutic art, and EMDR. These services are provided by skilled clinicians who have certification in the treatment program they are offering. This is what sets us apart from other clinics or practitioners. Training for specialized care is rigorous and requires significant commitment to education post-graduation. We believe in ethics and not just checking a box saying we can do the work. Firefly clinicians are certified to do the work, receive ongoing supervision and consultation and accredited by training programs or institutions. Areas of specialty include: relationships, grief/loss, chronic illness, abuse/trauma, PTSD, mood imbalances, child therapy, attachment issues, behavioral issues, anxiety, adoption/foster care, neurodiversity, LGBTQAI+, divorce and difficult life transitions or change. The Firefly Institute is committed to providing care through a commitment to excellence in healing for improving the communities in which we live and serve.
The Firefly Institute is focused on contributing to the field of mental health through advancing holistic theories of practice in solving complex challenges and issues facing children and adults due to adverse life experiences. We do so through our professional interactions and research programs. These focus on deepening the understanding of theory and clinical practice applications. Our program has the fundamental belief that a person's lived experiences, identities and story matters. Education and research programs respect the lived experiences and perspective of another, therefore we seek to explore and integrate that life experiences through qualitative inquiry.
